Description: Light Cross Country Skiing at Semmering. We might go on the "Panoramaloipe", or perhaps another one, the This is a very casual event, for those who would like to try cross country. This is a very loosely organized event, as it replaces our planned cross country event for January. I know that my children will be there and get tired of if after only a short time. So there is no excuse for not coming.
Discriptions of the Loipe are (my translation... don't expect much):
Die Semmering - Spital am Semmering Loipe mit der Einstiegstelle Johannesloipe
(bei der Talstation des Doppelsesselliftes Hirschenkogel) über den Dürrgraben
nach Steinhaus am Semmering. Vorbei am Sportplatz Jauern gelangen Sie nach 12
km zur Talstation der Vierersesselbahn Stuhleck in Spital am Semmering.
Nun haben Sie die Möglichkeit die selbe Strecke wieder retour zu laufen
oder die Öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel (ÖBB,Bundesbus) in Anspruch zu
nehmen.
The Semmering - Spital loipe starts at the entrance place Johannesloipe (near the lower valley station Hirschenkogel cable lift), across the dry ditch towards the stone house at Semmering. Past the sports field Jauern, arrive you after 12 km in the lower valley station for the Vierersesselbahn Stuhleck im Spital am Semmering. Now you have to run the opportunity to ski the same distance again back, or to take the public means of transport (OEBB, federal bus).
Die Streckenführung zeichnet sich vor allem durch das durchwegs vorhandene
leichte Gefälle bzw. ebene Teilstücke aus und ist aus diesem Grund
für Jedermann geeignet.
The routing is characterised particularly by the continual easy downward gradient
and level sections and for this reason is suitable for everyone.
Die Semmering Panoramaloipe mit einer Länge von 8 km hat ihren Ausgangspunkt hinter dem Südbahnhotel. Entlang der Liechtensteinstraße (unbefahrene Straße !) laufen Sie mit wunderschöner Aussicht auf das Rax- und Schneebergmassiv über den Golfplatz nach Orthof, wo die Loipe ein Schleife zieht und Sie wieder zum Start zurückbringt.
The Semmering panorama panoramaloipe, with a length of 8 km, has its starting point behind the south course hotel. Along the Liechtenstein route run with beautiful view to the Rax and Schneeberg, looming over the golf course after Orthof, where the loipe pulls a loop and returns you again to the start.

Starting Point:We will meet at the Bahnhoff Semmering at 10:45
Ending Point: We will all gather at a time convienient for the attendies, but NOTE much of the days events and meeting times will be agreed when we meet at the Bahnhof.
Elevation Change, length of walk in hours/kilometers: No elevation change at the Loipe. Getting there, you must plan on walking to it which may take 15 min - 30 min.
Estimated Time Required: Afternoon, people are free to leave as needed.
