Trip Sheet Obersberg/Schwarzau i. Gebirge

Meeting point: Place in front of the church (on the hill)
Description: Easy hike, totally about 5 hours walking time, some steep parts through the woods (not difficult, just a little exhausting)
Details: We start at the church of Schwarzau walking over the Hirschkogel following the red marks through woods and meadows reaching after abt. 2,5 to 3 hours (and abt. 800 m difference in altitude) the “Waldfreunde-Hütte Obersberg” at the top of the mountain. (Obersberg 1467 m) – we’ll have a nice view from there. After our break we return passing the Obersbergalm and a few farms down to Schwarzau.

Car connections: A2 Südautobahn until exit Gloggnitz, then B27 through the romantic Höllental to Schwarzau im Gebirge. It takes abt. 1 ½ hours drive from Vienna to Schwarzau.
There is a train/bus connection which however takes very long therefore I recommend car sharing.
Equipment: mountain boots, backpack, rain jacket, drink, maybe some food. We can get drinks, soup and a few “Kleinigkeiten” to eat at the hut, but no big meals.
