      Meeting time & point

All connections are accurate to the best of our knowledge, anyone considering attending this event should verify these connections for themselves

    Car Connections:

Motorway A1 (Westautobahn) Vienna - St. Polten, then exit St. Poelten Sued, road nr. 20 (direction Mariazell) until Lilienfeld (approx 23 km from St. Poelten).

Bus Stop: Turn left toward the center of Lilienfeld, and after a few meters turn right, and then after a little bit (100m?) the bus stop is located beside the railway station on the right hand side. From there it is a 15 min. walk to the lift, but those of us with cars might wish to offer a quick ride to the lift.

    Bus Connections:

    Vienna-Lilienfeld 6:50 - 8:10, Lilienfeld - Vienna 17:35 - 19:00.

    Train Connections:

    no information

    Equipment Needed:

Appropriate gear (mountain boots, backpack, snacks and 1l of water, etc) might be required. Snowshoes are reserved (10 pair only) and are adjustable to fit over most hiking shoes. The rental cost is 100 ATS for the weekend.

    Additional Remarks:

The route offers a very nice view over most all of the way. For those who do not wish to Snowshoe, other options exist in Lilienfeld including:

  1. Walking to Traisner Hutte (which if there is not enough snow will replace the snowshoe exercise)
  2. Skiing down Muckenkogel or around the summit (there is a rather simple and not so steep slope there)
  3. Sledging/Sledding on or around Muckenkogel.
  4. The post walk "Fluchtachterl" (parting drink) will be most likely be at the Traisen Huette (1/2 hour walk from the lift station)
