Public Transport Connections:

Forget it, if the train at Westbahn is late it takes you up to 6 hours. We should do it by carsharing.

I, Peter Levenitschnig, can offer car sharing for at least 3 people (meeting point: U4 station Hütteldorf at 9.00 a.m.). Please contact me by phone 0676 35 16 232 on Thursday not too late in the evening or on Friday.

Perhaps other companions could offer as well car sharing if nessecary?

Equipment needed: Usual equipment for hiking at alpine regions with stay overnight at a hut. E.g.: Solid hiking shoes (withstanding some moisture), raincoat, pullover, drinking bottle, some food, suncream, sun glasses, cap or hat, perhaps light gloves, clothes for changing, slippers, inner sleeping bag (two linens or special makes), toilet bag, flashlight. Temperature at the summit can be mild or winterly, so take along enough warm clothing !!

Additional Remarks

Großer Priel is the mountain having the best vista of Upper Austria. On a clear day we will have a literally 360° panoramic view from Lower Austria to Tyrol!

At this time of the year often temperature conversion is happening: Fog in the valleys, there it is cold and damp, high up there is sunshine and much warmer than in lower regions! I myself have experienced this several times at about the same date at Großer Priel.

A demanding but really worthwile trip with scenic surroundings (some of you know the area already from our New Year's Eve stay with "Zick am Berg").

Previous registration required (with Tim please, I'm abroad until Thursday afternoon),

OEAV membership required!
