One Day Hike Göller

suggested by Kirstin

Character: It’s an alpine tour up to a popular summit in a flat surrounding. So there should be a nice view from the top. First part through a forest, second part on the ridge of the Göller. For everyone who doesn’t like to walk that much, there is the opportunity to wait at the Göllerhaus while the others hike up to the summit.

Meeting point:       Saturday, May 12th at 9:00 h parking area Kernhof, beginning of the trail (Mürzsteger Alpen, closed to St. Aegyd) or 7:00 h at Wien-Hütteldorf

Car Connections:       Wien – Westautobahn A1 – Exit St. Pölten-Süd – B20 to Freiland (direction Lilienfeld) – B214 to Kernhof

Time:       Wien Hütteldorf – Kernhof about 11/2 to 2 hours

Route:       Parking area Kernhof (690 m) – Waldhüttelsattel (1266 m) – Göllerhaus (1440 m, ~ 2.5 hrs.) – Kleiner Göller (1573 m) – Großer Göller (1766 m, 33/4 hrs.) – same way back.

Time:  ~ 6 hrs. plus stops              Difference in height:  1080 m               Distance:  ~ 14 km

Equipment: Usual equipment for a spring hike. E.g.: Solid shoes, long trousers (waterproof?), raincoat, sunglasses, cap, gloves, pullover, clothes for changing, sticks, sun cream, drinking bottle, food etc.

I still have to check if the Göllerhaus is already open or if we have to take food for lunch with us.

I will go by car by myself and can offer 3 seats. Contact: 0699/19 74 00 85, Kirstin
