Detailled route

(Click map for larger view)
Starting from Zellerndorf the trail leads through vineyards and "Kellergassen"
(lanes with vine cellars, built into the clay hills): Zellerndorf
is situated a few kilometers south of Retz. You cross Zellerndorf southwards,
then leave it to the west (direction Pulkau). Before the end of the village
(street is going uphill) turn left to "Maulavern-Kellergasse" (red
wine press, see picture). I suggest to WALK through this Kellergasse to enjoy
if fully. Then the trail turns west direction Pulkau. Further route ("Weinkultur-Radweg"
is a marked bike trail): Pulkau - Obermarkersdorf. There you turn right and
go downhill to Schrattenthal: castle, perhaps lunchtime (or you wait for "Öhlbergkeller").
Pillersdorf: Before the end of the village (street goes uphill direction Zellerndorf)
turn left for "Öhlbergkeller" (Signpost). Outside of some cellars
you can sit in the open air and eat and drink some wine (similar to "Heurigen").
After this Kellergasse downhill back to Zellerndorf.
Have a nice time
in the "Kellergassen" !
