Snowshoe hike Rax (Moderate Pace) on 29 January 2017

Snowshoe hike (trip around Jakobskogel) at a moderate pace

Starting from Rax Cable car station we will hike with snowshoes to Jakobskogel (1737m) via Ottohaus. Back another route to Ottohaus.
Short brake at Jakobskogel (great panoramic view), late lunch brake at Ottohaus.
Bring along little snacks and hot drink.
Snow shoes can be rented at Alpenverein, Österr. Gebirgsverein or Rax upper Cablecar station (early reservation by phone recommended).
Date may change depending on snow conditions, weather or danger of avalanche.
In doubt, please phone or mail me 2 days in advance - I will also put a note here if there is a change of date.

Meeting time and place:
9:00 a.m. Raxbahn station (near Hirschwang), inside
taking the cable car at 9:30
Ending time at Raxbahn lower station at around 4:30 p.m.

Route by car:
Vienna - Südautobahn A2 - Exit Seebenstein - Schnellstraße S6 direction Semmering, Exit Gloggnitz, B27: Payerbach, Hirschwang (cable car station immediately behind the village to the left).
From City of Vienna (1010) 92km, 1 hour, 20 min
 

Car sharing:
I can offer 3-4 seats in exchange for a little fee for petrol.
Meeting point U1 station Kaisermühlen-V.I.C., exit towards the Danube,
meeting time 7:40 a.m.
