Description :

Alpine hike starting from Preiner Gscheid & the South side of the Rax. Margaretensteig is a short, easy Ferrata (A). The Altenbergersteig a scenic alpine route (not a ferrata) back to Preiner Gscheid. We'll take a tour via Th Körner hut & Grasbodenalm at the top before descending.

Technical requirements :

T3, I feel fine in difficult technical conditions and have mountain experience. I can manage to climb up and down without a rope on routes of climbing difficulty UIAA grade 1+

Physical requirements :

K2, 4-7 hours / day; up and down

not really T3, rather T2-T3; depending on route 5 1/2 to 7 hrs

hiking gear, sturdy, ankle-high boots, rain gear, water & food supplies

Transport Details :

Public transport hike but we can switch to cars if drivers and cars are available (please bear in mind that, if you are not a driver and have a car available, you should be equally happy to go by public transport if you register, thanks) please indicate if you are a driver & happy to offer lifts to other participants (at shared cost, of course).
