“Crna Gora” – Montenegro – “Black Mountains”

by Michael Merstallinger

19.00 at Casa Romana Restaurant
Rotenturmstrasse 17
1010 Wien

Earlier this year, Michael took a round trip through nearly all of the former states of “Yugoslavia” with the main focus on Crna Gora – Montenegro!

"From Vienna through Hungary to Belgrade in Serbia. From Belgrade south to the Border of Montenegro  - Pljevia – Tara Canyon – to Zabljak. The Durmitor Nationalpark in the North has with 2522m the highest mountains – but unfortunately there was still a lot of snow  in May and nearly completely covered with snow over 2100m altitude. Driving is still a little bit adventurous in Montenegro, but also covered with many impressions. From the North we went further on to Kolasin. The oldest Nationalpark of Europe “Biogradska Gora” is located in this area and the forest is one of only three remaining “natural forests” of Europe! Then we went to the mountains called “Komovi” near the border to Albania. Even great and unspoiled and lonesame! After ten days in the higher mountains we went to Kotor – the only Fjord in the Mediterranean sea. Even there the mountains are up to 1750 m high and hiking is wonderful. In the end we closed our circle by driving home near the Croatian sea and made a stop in our favourite “Pansion KIKO” at Paklenica with Fish and Karlovacko!"

So join Michael on a wonderful journey through the unspoiled landscape of Montenegro, with many lakes and even more flowers!!
