Description :

Autumn hike to the top of the Schneeberg through the beautiful Weichtalklamm. We start at the Weichtalhaus and ascent through the Weichtalklamm, a gorge with easy rock passages and some parts secured with iron ladders and chains (ferrata level A/B). After passing the Kientalerhütte, we reach the Klosterwappen, the highest point of Schneeberg (2076). Descent via the Stadelwandgraben and back to Weichtalhaus.

This is a long hike with 1500m of elevation gain, therefore suitable only for fit hikers with brisk pace. The gorge is narrow and slippery at some points, so sure-footedness and reasonable level of caution is required, though climbing equipment is not obligatory.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down
