Description :

Totes Gebirge - The Dead Mountains - are one of the most prominent mountain groups in the Northern Limestone Alps range. Grosser Priel (2515 m) is the highest summit.
The hike is planned to take 2 days, with an overnight stay at Prielschutzhaus.
We will approach the summit from Hinterstoder. From the parking lot by Johannishof (597 m) to Polstergut farm and then up to the hut, at 1422 m.
We will ascent via Kuehkar and over Brotfallscharte to the fore-summit and by the narrow summit ridge on top. It is a hike with some scrambling and protected on a few places below Brotfallscharte.
Next day there is an option to do Stodertaler Steig (via feratta with B dificulty) to reach Spitzmauer.
Participants should be fit, with a head for heights and experience with ferattas.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down
