Starlight Starbright hike on 22 February 2020

A starlight starbright hike in Lower Austria. The tour I am thinking of is going from Michelbach (a few km SE of St. Pölten) to the Kukubauerhütte and back.  It is about 5km each way (although we could extend the route out there if we want). I will have to check in the coming days whether it is still open after sunset, as there are no sleeping facilities there.  If not, alternative plans will be made (possibly the Hegerberg, also nearby, where the restaurant at the top definitely should be open).

Starting mid-late afternoon on the Saturday, we will walk up to the hut (or Restaurant) before sunset, have dinner, and return in the dark. Returning to Vienna later in the evening.

Note that the intention is to walk in the dark wherever possible, and to use the headlamps as little as possible, in order to preserve our night vision. When lights are necessary, please use a red light where possible.

By car. Details will be sent to registered participants by mail on the Friday before. Plan to meet in Vienna sometime around 2pm.
