***All places are taken - registration closed***

On the weekend trip to Slovenia we will stay at Triglav national park, but instead of hustle and bustle of mt. Triglav, we will visit two other iconic mountains, Prisojnik (2547m) and Mangart (2679m).

We will start the journey on Friday at 16:00 from Vienna, and return on Sunday evening, so no extra vacations days are needed. There is a good 4,5 hours drive to Vrsic mountain pass, where we will stay for two nights at Postarski dom mountain hut 1688m

1st Day (Saturday 14th):  Prisojnik (2547m), 1350 v.m., 10 hours

We will do one of the most beautiful slovenian alpine crossing: acend via  Kopiscar route (west window) and descend via Jubilejna route (east window) . Both routes are more than 60 years old classics in magnificant alpine environment, my personal favourites in the whole Slovenian Julian alps.

2nd Day (Sunday 15th):  Mangart (2678m), 775m, 4 hours

As we might be a little bit tired from the first day, we will take it a little bit easier on  Sunday: We will drive to Soca valley and then up to the Mangart saddle (2055m), via the highest mountain road in Slovenia. There we will ascend Mangart (third highest mountain in Slovenia) via  Slovenska route and desced via Normal route . We will arrive back to Vienna in the evening.

Although all routes are considered as "old classics", they are still rated as via ferrats with difficulty B/C, even very short section with C/D and therefore should not be taken lightly. They used to be climbed without protection back in the days (and many still do it today, as they are not that difficult), however with all safety eqipment available nowdays, we should use harness and via ferrata kit.

Due to some airy passages, head for hights is absolutely necessary!

As we will stay in the same mountain hut, you will be able to take only light pack, and leave other stuff at the hut.

Max number of participants is 10, first come, first served. Registration by beginning of June, in order make timely hut reservation. Half-board available at the hut.
