Starting at Guntersdorf train station, we will cycle on quiet roads through undulating countryside to the medieval town of Eggenburg. There, we join the Urzeit Radweg (named after the discovery of fossils in the area) and climb gradually onto a plateau. Those who have not brought sufficient food and drink will be able to purchase some at Amethyst World (situated high above the town of Maissau). We will then continue through a mixture of forests and open land across the Manhartsberg. Some sections of the road are unpaved but in good condition. We then descend to the village of Schoenberg am Kamp and continue down the Kamptal to Langenlois. After a picturesque ride through the vineyards, we arrive in Krems an der Donau (total distance 67 km from Guntersdorf) from where there are trains to Vienna every hour.

In the event of bad weather, we could consider postponing the ride to Sunday 12 June.
