Description :

National Park Velka Fatra lays in the heart of Slovakia, in the central Carpathians. The 3 day hut-to-hut trek will take us through its most beautiful sites - the apline meadows with great views of Tatra mountains, old forests, and rocky outcrops of Tlsta and Ostra. We spend one night at a mountain cabin in the very heart of the mountains and 2 nights in a picturesque, yet authentic village of Blatnica. Possibility to rent bikes - good biking options in Gader valley. Rock climbing not permitted.

Technical requirements :

T1, I can move myself surefootedly on trails and narrow foot-paths

Physical requirements :

K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down

1st day - cca 3,5 hrs to the cabin; 2nd day cca 9-10 hrs, 3rd day cca 7hrs with option of shorter trip

Equipment :

headlamp, gaiters, trekking poles, raincoat/rainproof jacket, hat, study boots, thin gloves, own food for the 2nd day, 2l of liquids

Transport Details :

5th May - train 6.16 from Wien Hbf, change in Bratislava train + bus, arrival 1pm, start of the trek

8th May - return from Blatnica, departure 10.30, bus + train, arrival to Vienna 5 - 6pm

Expected travel costs 45 euro

Expected accomodation costs cca 50 euro

IMPORTANT: A deposit of 39 euro for the accomodation in Blatnica is required for this trip.
