How people can work together.
Keeping flexibility in mind, here is (basically)
how the club functions.
Monthly Events are planned in October of the previous
year. They are
arranged and lead by volunteers.
We post them on the Internet, send reminders through
the email list and discuss them at monthly meetings.
The goal is to offer an one event each month, under
the "friends inviting friends" motto.
Group Events are more focused and driven around
the personalities leading the groups. Our groups
include Hiking, Biking, Climbing, and what ever
comes in the future. Communication of the event(s)
relies more on the forum and the email list. We
highly suggest to be put information on internet,
but there is no real requirement to do so (this
is a matter of resources - remember you are supposed
to get outside too). Some cross over happens, with
a group sometimes "hosting" a monthly
event.
Email, Forum Events and old fashioned "Word
Of Mouth" are groups of members who just happen
to meet and plan something. Do you have an idea
and want to invite some friends? Want to make new
friends, meet people and just be social? This is
"Friends inviting friends" at the simplest,
with as little administration as possible.
The club is there to provide the tools to accomplish
all this and acts as a center to attract like minded
individuals. (trip sheet examples, website, email
list, etc..)
However, there are Some Limitations. We are
- Not a Tour Guide.
- Not a Ski Instructor.
- Not a baby sitter.
- Not Paid!!
